It was such a delight and made a wonderful Birthday experience. She also turned IrishSuze's husband into a Leprachaun, but that is another story. All the hotels were wonderful, no issues with room temperatures, beds were comfortable, and the hotels were beautiful. We liked the Granville Hotel, in Waterford , as it was a boutique hotel. I had some very good Irish stew at the Granville, and we had our breakfast of Irish Whiskey porridge here too. Our favorite was the Raddison Blu St.
Helens Hotel, free internet as it looked like an English estate, with beautiful flower gardens. The city bus stops right in front of the hotel so it is a easy ride into Dublin. All the hotels, were hands down, a hit with my group. The tour includes all your breakfast and dinners, and I never had a bad meal. I certainly have missed my daily breakfast of Chocolate Crosisants.
I differ with Irish Suze regarding the tour highlights, but that is okay, as we all have our personal preferences. I enjoyed visiting the Clonmacnoise Monastic site which was founded in AD. To look at these beautiful ruins and take in all the history of those monks were so interesting. Some may have found this boring, but I did not. Kylemore Abbey is one of the reason's I picked the Irish Gold tour.
This was soppose to be a picture stop on the tour, but Maureen, worked it out to do the boat tour first, so we could have 90 minutes at the Abbey. And that was still not enough time. We managed to see The Abbey and the Cathederal, but ran out of time to see the Mausoleum, and the Victorian Walled Garden But I am thankful to Marlene, that we got more than a picture stop, I certainly prefered the Abbey over the Killary Harbour cruise , which was a bore to me, and I spoke to a few others who felt the same.
Maybe, since I am from Florida and have been on a ton of boat cruises , it didn't ring my bell.

I did get the impression this may be removed from future tours. The Cliffs of Moher!! Well, what can you say, it is simply breathtaking. Just like the Grand Canyon, you just sit back and take in it's beauty. We loved the Cliffs. We also enjoyed our tour stop in the town of Adare. Cute shops, and good picture stop location, for a little Irish Village.
The Jaunting Cars for me, were a real dissapointment. Our Jarvey the driver gave us no history, and a bunch of nonfunny jokes. The 6 of us, just started laughing, because of the absurdity of it all.
Heck, we weren't even sure where we were going, or what we were looking at, and the scenery was nothing spectacular. A demolished church, and a graveyard with a fresh grave. A few people in our cart were a little unnerved by this. It didn't bother me, but I could see how it might bother some. The horses were also not very well groomed.
My hand was black as night after petting one of the horses, and the poor horse behind our cart, kept snorting and bumping his head into the back of our cart, trying to pull his own cart. I found it depressing the horses and the scenery boring. This of course is my opinon, but hey, we all have one, and that is mine. And I agree, the Ring of Kerry was a bit of a long day, but hey, I got a few more sheep pictures. Even though there wasn't a lot to it, I did enjoy the history of the Skellig Heritage Center experience.
Blarney Castle was tons of fun, but be warned the tower you climb to kiss the stone is steep, and narrow. I was impressed with the gentleman in front of me who hopped all the way up with a one arm cane! The Castle does have elevators to the top, so please use them, if you need to.

The Waterford Crystal tour was really interesting and the crystal beautiful. I know some thought the Dunbrody Famine Ship was a little snoozy, but I enjoyed the reenactment of the potato famine of the 's. And during this stop don't forget to head down to the John F. Kennedy Memorial and shake his hand.

Good photo Op. The Taylor Three Rock show provided some good comedians, singers, and dancers. Irish Suze is right! It was a great trip, and you will have a blast! We made friends with others from our group, and went out to a pub every night, enjoyed Irish Music, did a little dancing and indulged in a lot of Baby Guinness's If you don't have fun on this tour, well, it is your own fault!! Very glad to hear you enjoyed the CIE trip and the hotel. We look forward to welcoming you back in the future.

Year after year, these traditions remain. Around the world, though, this scene might look a little different. Here are nine intriguing ways birthdays are celebrated around the world.
